RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICY

This Returns and Refunds Policy explains your rights and the procedure to follow if you wish to cancel an Order, return a Product, or claim a refund or replacement under your purchase from LUMA (Florian BOICHUT, trading as LUMA) made through lightsbyluma.com.
This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and should be read together with them. Nothing in this Policy affects your statutory rights as a Consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

RETURN SHIPPING COSTS — SUMMARY
- 14-day cooling-off returns (change of mind): FREE — we cover the full cost of return shipping and will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return costs against proof of postage.
- Faulty, damaged or mis-described Products: FREE — we cover the full cost of return shipping.
- Returns outside the 14-day statutory period (non-faulty): return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
1. SUMMARY OF YOUR RIGHTS
As a UK Consumer, you have three principal sets of rights:
1. A 14-day "cooling-off" right of cancellation — you may cancel any online Order within 14 days for any reason and receive a refund (clause 2 below).
2. A 30-day right to reject faulty Products — if a Product is faulty, you may reject it within 30 days of delivery and obtain a full refund (clause 5 below).
3. A right to repair, replacement, price reduction or final rejection for faults that develop later (clause 5 below).
In addition to these statutory rights, we make the following commercial commitments:
- Free return shipping — we cover the cost of returning Products within the 14-day cooling-off period.
- No restocking fee — we never charge a restocking, processing or handling fee on returned Products.
- No final-sale items — every Product sold on the Website may be returned within the 14-day period.
These rights and commitments are in addition to one another.
2. 14-DAY RIGHT TO CANCEL ("COOLING-OFF PERIOD")
2.1 Right
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your Contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
2.2 Cancellation period
The 14-day period starts on the day after you receive the Products. Where Products in a single Order are delivered separately, the period runs from the day after you receive the last Product.

It is sufficient to send your communication before the 14-day period has expired.
2.4 Returning the Products after cancellation
You must send the Products back no later than 14 days from the day you communicate your cancellation.
2.5 Cost of return — FREE
We cover the cost of return shipping for all returns made under the 14-day cooling-off period. We will either provide you with a prepaid return label or reimburse the reasonable cost of return shipping you have incurred (against proof of postage). Please contact us at contact@lightsbyluma.com before sending the Product back so that we can arrange the return method.
This commercial commitment is offered in addition to your statutory rights and may be modified for future Orders by updating this Policy.
2.5.1 No restocking fee
We do not charge any restocking, processing, administration or handling fee on returned Products.
2.5.2 No final-sale items
Every Product sold on the Website may be returned within the 14-day period. No Products are designated "final sale" or "non-refundable", subject only to the statutory exceptions in clause 3.

We strongly recommend using a tracked or recorded delivery service. The Products remain your responsibility until they reach us.
2.7 Condition of returned Products
You may handle Products to assess their nature and functioning (as you would in a shop). However, you may be liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary. For lighting Products, do not install, hard-wire or modify a Product if you intend to exercise your right to cancel.
2.8 Refunds following cancellation
We will reimburse all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and in any event no later than:
- 14 days after we receive the returned Products; or
- 14 days after you supply evidence of return, whichever is earlier.
We will use the same payment method as the original transaction. No fees will be charged as a result of the reimbursement.
3. EXCEPTIONS TO THE 14-DAY RIGHT TO CANCEL
The right to cancel does not apply to:
- Products made to your specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. custom-made lighting, bespoke colour finishes)
- Products which, after delivery, become inseparably mixed with other items
- Sealed Products not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons, if unsealed after delivery
Where an exception applies, this will be stated on the Product page before you place your Order.
4. VOLUNTARY RETURNS BEYOND THE 14-DAY PERIOD
We do not currently offer returns of non-faulty Products beyond the statutory 14-day cooling-off period. Your statutory rights regarding faulty Products remain unaffected (see clause 5).
Requests for returns outside the 14-day period may be considered on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. In such cases, the cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
5. FAULTY, DAMAGED OR MIS-DESCRIBED PRODUCTS
5.1 Statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all Products must be:
- of satisfactory quality (durable, safe, free from defects, of acceptable appearance and finish)
- fit for purpose
- as described
5.2 30-day short-term right to reject
If your Product does not meet these standards and you notify us within 30 days of receipt, you have the right to reject it and receive a full refund including original delivery costs.
5.3 Repair or replacement (after 30 days)
After the 30-day period, you may require us to repair or replace the Product within a reasonable time.
5.4 Final right to reject and price reduction
If a repair or replacement does not resolve the fault, you have the right to a further repair or replacement, a price reduction, or to reject the Product and receive a refund.
5.5 Burden of proof
Faults within 6 months of delivery are presumed present at delivery unless we prove otherwise. After 6 months, the burden shifts to you.
5.6 Damaged on arrival
Contact us within 48 hours at contact@lightsbyluma.com with photographs of the damage and packaging.
5.7 Cost of returning faulty Products — FREE
If a Product is faulty, damaged on arrival or mis-described, we pay the full cost of return shipping. Contact us before sending the Product back.

5.8 Long-term rights
Your statutory remedies may be enforceable for up to 6 years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and 5 years in Scotland.
6. LIGHTING PRODUCTS — SPECIFIC POINTS
6.1 Inspection on delivery
Inspect lighting Products on receipt, before installation. Retain original packaging until satisfied.
6.2 No installation before inspection
Do not install or hard-wire a Product if you intend to exercise the 14-day right to cancel. If faulty, disconnect safely before contacting us.
6.3 Installation faults
We are not liable for damage from improper installation, modification or use contrary to instructions or safety standards (including BS 7671).
6.4 Bulbs and consumables
Lamps supplied with Products are consumable items. They are covered by statutory rights but will not be repaired or replaced free of charge once they have reached the end of their useful life.
7. ORDER CANCELLATION BEFORE DISPATCH
To cancel an Order before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible at contact@lightsbyluma.com. If we stop dispatch in time, we will cancel and refund in full. If already dispatched, clause 2 applies.
8. REFUNDS — GENERAL
- All refunds issued in GBP (£) to the original payment method
- Refunds are usually visible within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank or card issuer
- We do not offer cash refunds
9. EXCHANGES
We do not offer direct exchanges. To receive a different Product, return the original and place a new Order.
